Illegal trading
nightclub case
postponed
The illegal trading case against the ZAR nightclub in Green Point co-owned by “sushi king” Kenny Kunene was yesterday postponed in the Municipal Court to December 6.
The lavish nightclub was infamous for hosting extravagant parties where sushi was consumed along with French champagne. The bodies of partially clothed women were used as plates.
The club was fined R1 500 on May 31 for trading without a business licence, but when it went unpaid the city approached the court on September 8 for ZAR to be summoned to appear.
Yesterday, magistrate Grant Engel postponed the case as ZAR manager Viron Watson, 43, requested legal representation.
